LADIES ROCK CAMP of Middle Tennessee! September 12-14, 2008
Volunteers! Moms! Sisters! Have you ever thought to yourself, "I wish there had been something like the Southern Girls Rock & Roll Camp when I was growing up?" Well, now there is! For the first time this Fall, the Ladies Rock Camp (LRC) of Middle Tennessee will empower women through music while helping raise funds for the Southern Girls Rock & Roll Camp. The camp offers instruction in guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, and vocals. Attendees form bands and rehearse in a supportive environment to learn and perform a song while collaborating with like-minded ladies. The camp will be held Friday, September 12 – Sunday, September 14 at Cedars of Lebanon State Park. LRC is an overnight camp with meals included. Applications due September 8th. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rock Block, Sept 23-Nov 18, 2008 Rock Block is an after school program for girls ages 10-17 interested in forming a band and collaborating on songs. Rock Block offers the opportunity to gain experience playing with other musicians in a band setting and a chance to perform a showcase at the end of the program.
Rock Block meets Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm September 23-November 18, 2008 at Johnny Guitars (1370 W. Clark Blvd. Murfreesboro, TN 37129).

SGRRC Offers Two Sessions in TN:

SGRRC is a day camp for girls ages 10-17 that empowers young women and promotes positive self-esteem through music. The camp offers instrument instruction in Guitar, Drums, Bass, Keyboard, Vocals, Hip Hop and Electronic Music. In addition, campers get to explore workshops in Songwriting, Recording, Music Herstory, DIY Arts & Crafts and Zine Making. Exclusive performances by women in the music industry offer campers an opportunity to experience a diverse range of musical styles followed by a Q&A session with performers. The most exciting part of camp week is the opportunity for campers to form their own band and collaborate on a song to perform at a showcase at the end of the week. Tuition is $250 and includes lunch for the week, workshop supplies, a camp t-shirt, and professionally recorded DVD of the showcase performance. SGRRC is a day camp for girls ages 10-17 that runs from 9am to 5pm. If campers are travelling from out of state, please contact us for assistance in arranging a host family. The mission of the Southern Girls Rock & Roll Camp is to support a culture of positive self-esteem and collaboration among girls while building community through music.
